How to Forget About Manual Currency Rate Loading in QDPro
This article is intended for users working with the QDPro (QD Professional) customs declaration software and focuses on the problem of automating the loading of currency exchange rates into its database. There are several ways to update the currency rates in this program's database. Let's consider them:
Method №1. Use the QDSetup utility. To do this, follow these steps:
- Launch QDSetup (Start menu -> All Programs -> Intes -> QDSetup);
- In the window that appears, select "Update" and click the "Forward" button;
- Select "Internet" and click the "Forward" button;
- Select the internet connection type ("Direct") and click the "Forward" button;
- Select the server ("Kyiv") and click the "Forward" button;
- In the dialog box that appears, be sure to check the "Currency Rates" box (and uncheck the others) and click the "Forward" button. After these manipulations, the program will download the necessary currency rate files and display a corresponding message window where you need to click the "OK" button;
- Launch the QDPro program.
Method № 2. Load currency rates from a file in the NBU format, previously obtained via email distribution or downloaded from the QDPro program website. To do this, follow these steps:
-
Obtain or download the necessary file and save it in a specially designated folder for storing such files; - Launch the QDPro program;
- Hold down the Shift key and click the currency rates loading button (located at the very bottom of the left control panel);
- In the folder selection dialog that appears, select the folder where you saved the currency rates file. After clicking the "OK" button, the program will load the currency rates from the files located in that folder.
As you can see, both methods are quite cumbersome, and one inevitably wonders if there is any way to avoid all these manipulations with files and utilities. A very suitable solution to this issue could be the use of the ValOffice program.
How can this program help avoid the manipulations described above? The fact is that this program automatically launches when the operating system boots and performs, essentially, the same actions to obtain currency rates as QDSetup, but does so in the background. Thus, after Windows boots, this program will save the currency rates file in the necessary folder, and when the user launches QDPro, the rates will be loaded into the program.
In addition to fully automating the retrieval of currency rates, the ValOffice program will also help you:
- Find out the currency rate very quickly, as the program's icon is always in the system tray and all you need to do is hover your mouse cursor over it;
- Print currency rates;
- Copy a currency rate to the Windows clipboard;
- View the dynamics of currency rate changes.
